Coconut Oil and Health?

Could coconut oil be good for you and actually help you maintain health? Some say yes! Coconut oil has been in a wide range of studies, one of which evaluated potential effects on the immune system.

The studies imply potential for coconut oil to have some immune system-boosting properties. One area explored coconut oil's effect on fighting infections. Coconut oil is made up of a number of medium chain fatty acids some of which have antibacterial and antiviral properties as well as some properties that help boost the immune system. The word is still out on whether this is true for humans as this testing was conducted on animals early on.

Hmmm. Could coconut oil be the answer to those of us suffering with horrible autoimmune diseases?

Here is why I love coconut oil! It:

1) gives me wonderful energy.
2) adds a nice, light tropical scent to my morning shakes.
3) it seems to be more effective at removing wastes from my body.
4) minimizes my PMS symptoms.
5) makes my skin feel less dry (and I only take it internally) -- my legs and face are softer.
6) help me sleep better. I get a full night of sleep more often. I sleep more solid every night.

I am addicted to the effects of coconut oil!

Beauty Benefits from Coconut Oil!!

I found some great ways to enhance your beauty with coconut oil.

1) It is moisturizing. Slather it on your body, face and neck.

2) It contains natural UV protection so you'll want to use it on your face, neck and arms when you are going out in the sun. This is a wonderful anti-aging benefit!

3) Coconut oil is fabulous to use as a conditioner on your hair if you have thick, coarse or curly hair. It will also make your hair really shiny. My husband has beautifully curly hair and he uses coconut oil on his hair all the time.

4) Coconut oil is wonderful when you heat it up and let is sit on your hair for 10 minutes or so. Your locks will have sealed up split ends when you do this!

5) What about gently rubbing coconut oil on your skin to eliminate skin conditions like rosacea?

Coconut Oil and Anti-Aging

Who knew a fabulous anti-aging product would come from a delicious food. There have been numerous studies evaluating the diets of people native and living in the tropics. One commonality amongst tropical dwellers is their use of coconut meat and coconut oil.

Coconut oil stimulates the thyroid function and, as a result, lowers cholesterol. The by-product of this process is greater prevention of many of those diseases and conditions that we commonly connect with the natural aging process. These include weight gain, senility, heart disease and cancer.

All this and it makes your skin look great - why wouldn't you try consuming coconut oil for a month?

Coconut oil is fabulous to use externally!

I have been using coconut oil internally for about a month. I feel fabulous, have energy and notice that my skin is softer.

However, what am intrigued about is using it topically on my body. For example, I have this skin tag on my neck that just looks unattractive. I have begun rubbing organic coconut oil on my neck in the hopes that the oil gently removes this ugly skin tag. I have also heard that coconut oil will minimize my newly-formed age creases on my neck.

My husband had a cracked and infected area of skin on his feet that had been developing for quite some time. He also started rubbing coconut oil on his feet before putting on his socks. The dried out and infected area is nearly gone.

Who knew there could be so many benefits to something as simple as coconut oil!

Coconut oil is just the buzz these days!

If there is either a health condition or something related to our bodies that we want to overcome, coconut oil is the solution. Coconut oil seems to be the answer for everything. I can not find a way to refute this point. Nor can I have a meal where I don't think about how I am going to sneak a little coconut oil in my food. Not only does it make me feel amazing. I am certain that it is doing wonders inside my body. My body has been denied good, quality fat for far too long!

When you are buying coconut oil...I have noticed that I enjoy organic coconut oil. The organic variation seems to be more fragrant and have a slight taste of the tropics. I also look for a brand that seems to be a little softer. I find this mixes better in my cold morning shakes (where the coconut oil solidifies into pieces in the blender when mixed with ice).

See if you can find one reason to not begin enjoying coconut oil today. I dare you!!

Can coconut oil help you detox your body?

Our bodies are exposed to all kinds of toxins. All the things that we consume - our food, our air and our water…you get the picture. When these toxins accumulate in our bodies, they can cause the immune system to be overburdened and cease to function properly. The result is illness and disease. This can often be reversed with detoxification. It seems logical. Take away the junk and you take away the disease.

Coconut oil is a natural detoxifier
There are two key ideas surrounding using coconut oil as a detoxifier. Since it fuels metabolism, your body’s ability to neutralize and eliminate impurities is kicked into high gear in conjunction with the increased metabolism. The Medium Chain Fatty Acids in virgin coconut oil also naturally kill off toxins – both those that are destructive and those that are created as byproducts. You get a double dose of detoxification.

Enjoy the wonderful benefits of coconut oil when you take just 2-4 tablespoons (spread out, not all at one time) everyday. Happy detoxing!
