Coconut Oil and Managing Your Weight

I had no idea how powerful coconut oil can be in managing your weight. Did you know that coconut oil is the largest form of medium chain fatty acids (after breast milk, of course)? Did you also know that MCFA -- like those in coconut oil promote a process called thermogenesis that helps your body create energy by burning fat.

Most oils that we consume (i.e. vegetable oil) are made up of long chain fatty acids which actually encourage your body to store fat. Think of this: animals are fed vegetable oil to put on weight (which makes them valuable for human consumption). When animals are fed coconut oil, they become very lean. There have been studies proving this very fact.

I feed my pets coconut oil and it not only helps to stabilize their weight but it also helps them get a beautifully, shiny coat.

Obviously, since most of us would like to lose weight we want to burn fat rather than store fat. That's why coconut oil can be really important in weight loss. Just a few tablespoons added to your food everyday can really make a dramatic difference in your body.
