Coconut Oil and Flu

I have been very conservative in my use of coconut oil because although it is composed of medium chain fatty acids (very healthy and good for you), it is still composed of saturated fat which only inflames inflammatory diseases. I have an inflammatory disease (

I have finally figured it out so that I can take the coconut oil and not worry about my MS. Research shows coconut oil in your diet leads to a normalizations of lipids in the body. This:

- boosts the anti-inflammatory properties of the immune system as well as
- helps the liver fight off the affects of alcohol disease

I had trouble before making the connection that coconut oil (which seems to do nothing but help a situation) could be bad for inflammatory conditions. This may actually help me with my multiple sclerosis. I am desperate for anything.

It is also interesting to note that coconut oil has a substance called Monolaurin which is used by our bodies to eliminate such diseases as:

- HIV
- herpes
- flu

Very interesting. Could reaching for coconut oil actually help you this flu season?
