Coconut oil -- forget low fat!

We have been jaded about fats. We need essential fats for a variety of reasons to keep our bodies running smoothly. We could not survive without fats. You just have to eat the right kind of fats and that is where coconut oil comes in. Two reasons to make sure fats like coconut oil are present in your diet:

1) Vitamins A, D, E and K are only soluable when there is fat present.
2) Eating fat helps us feel satisfied with our food. When we eat a low fat or fat free diet continuously, we tend to gain weight - we eat too much before we are full.
3) Fats tend to let the air out of our sweet tooth.


Did you know that almost 2/3 of Americans are considered overweight? This has only occurred in recent decades...about the same time we started shunning fats like coconut oil.

Hmmm. We are getting fatter because we are eating lower fat, high sugar diets. Maybe we should turn it around and eat a high fat, low sugar diet and see what happens.
