Not everything is good with coconut oil
I am the biggest fan of coconut oil. Ask anyone. However, I have found one flaw with it.
I cooked a big breakfast this weekend for my family. Instead of using Pam or butter, I fried the hash browns in coconut oil. Two things happened:
- the hash browns had a sweet, tropical flavor which really did not go well with the hash brown flavor
- the whole house stunk for 24 hours (at least) like a cheap diner
It was awful, I had to use candles and lots of open windows and the smell is still not gone. I am not sure that I will fry in coconut oil again (regardless of how good it is for me). Hmmm.
